12-13-18 Northern Plains: Snow showers this morning… quiet weather into next week. B.

Good Thursday morning everyone! We have a broken area of snow showers continuing to progress across northern and central Minnesota this morning. These will quickly push off to the east throughout the day today and completely exit the far NE corner of the state late this afternoon with snow exiting North-Central Minnesota including areas like International Falls and Grand Rapids by the early afternoon hours today. Skies should clear from west to east throughout the day for those that don’t wake up with sunshine. Clearer skies overnight will allow for the risk for patchy freezing fog in SE Minnesota tomorrow morning mainly in low-lying areas: 

We should generally see sunny skies tomorrow too before a weak wave works in Saturday along a cold front. Given dry air at the surface, anything more than sprinkles in the Western Dakotas seem to be unlikely. The front could bring wind gusts up to 30 MPH on Saturday, however:
