Good Wednesday morning everyone! We have some light snow showers working out of SE Minnesota this morning with some very light precipitation, likely a rain, freezing drizzle mix in Western North Dakota:
We will battle dry air until we get into the late afternoon and evening hours and precipitation picks up in the form of a rain/snow mix especially in SW South Dakota. The better chance of snow will come into the Eastern Dakotas and Minnesota overnight with snow lingering in Northern Minnesota into the early afternoon hours tomorrow:
Marginal temperatures throughout this event will limit impact to roadways especially in the Dakotas:
Here’s a look at snowfall potential for this event. Most areas see less than 1″ but we could see up to 1″, isolated 2″ in North-Central MN.
Behind this system wind gusts of 35-45 MPH are possible overnight and into tomorrow morning in the Western Dakotas which have led to wind advisories:
