Today’s Video:
Radar at 5:15 AM CT: Light snow will continue tracking along & north of I-74.
Band of light snow showers will largely dissipate between 9-10am CT, but bring a swath of light amounts of 1″ or less from the Quad cities through Kewanee, Pontiac, to Watseka & Hoopeston.
Looking ahead, a disturbance will bring us raw weather Saturday with light rain transitioning to light snow with falling temperatures & gusty winds. Very minor snow amounts would be possible, along with isolated slick mid afternoon Saturday to early evening across central & northern Illinois.
Wind forecast over the next 4 days:
All eyes are on a winter weather threat starting later Sunday through Tuesday Morning. Increasing confidence on an onslaught of winter weather Sunday PM-night for southern Illinois, but confidence decreases for Monday-Monday night as the core of the system passes by. Data varies significantly on the track, which will impact where & how much snow/ice/rain falls. This has the potential to bring several inches of snow to the state, but nothing is set in stone at this distance.
