12-11-19 Tovar Milwaukee: Latest on tomorrow’s system. MG.

Forecast update:

The National Weather Service has placed much of northern Wisconsin under a winter weather advisory.  This includes areas such as Stevens Point and Green Bay.

Here is a look at simulated radar from 2 AM tomorrow morning through 2 AM Friday morning.

Here is a look at simulated radar for the same time as above (2 AM THU – 2 AM FRI).  Cooler temperatures around the Stevens Point area will allow for some higher ratio snow.  Note that areas across southern Wisconsin warm up where pavement issues will be largely avoided.  Temperatures do look to fall around 32 F or less widespread as we get into Thursday night/ Friday morning.  This could allow for some potential refreeze where any moisture can be retained.

Here is a look at low temperatures on Friday morning.  Notice that areas along the coast such as Milwaukee and Racine struggle to dip below 32.  Refreeze risk will be less of a concern in these areas.

In the afternoon we could see some breezy conditions in southern WI.  Below is a look at the wind gust potential around 1 PM tomorrow afternoon.  Winds will die down in the evening hours across the state.

Latest thoughts on snowfall potential for tomorrow.  Note that areas such as Dubuque, Madison and Milwaukee will not see much in the way of accumulations as temperatures look to be too warm.  Overall, the forecast from this morning remains largely on track.
