Today’s Central Plains States Forecast:

The southern half of the region is under a Red Flag Warning today.  Conditions will be favorable for any fires that develop to spread rapidly.  Wind advisory across eastern Nebraska and western Iowa…gusts 40-50 mph.

Forecast radar into tonight: A clipper system tracking just northeast of Iowa will bring in light precipitation across Iowa today, spreading into Missouri this evening:

No big systems expected to move through this week (what’s new, right?) but a couple additional weak disturbances mid and late week.  We target our next weak disturbance on Wednesday.  This could bring a light mix across northeast Nebraska, Iowa, and into Missouri towards Wednesday night:

Overall, it appears the drier theme may continue into late month due to a “split” jet stream across the central Plains.  Here are our weeks 1 and 2 outlooks:
