Today’s Video:
Good morning everyone! It’s very quiet to start the day for most of the area, but there are a few flurries working through Northern Minnesota associated with a weak disturbance this morning. This will lead to some clouds in Minnesota into the afternoon:
Overall, a pretty nice day with mostly sunny skies for most of the area, but we do have dense fog advisories in effect for southeastern Minnesota. This area could deal with dense freezing fog risks into mid-day:
We’re watching a disturbance tomorrow that will work in as early as ~5-6 AM CDT tomorrow. Initially this could bring some rain in the Western Dakotas with snow mixing in at times throughout the day tomorrow. The best change for a changeover to snow will be in Western Minnesota as temperatures fall into tomorrow evening. Here’s a look at the simulated radar from midnight tomorrow to 1AM Wednesday:
Snowfall amounts looks light, likely 1″ or less with many missing out completely.
The energy associated with this wave reorganizes into a low-pressure system to the southeast and could lead to a few inches of snow in far SE Minnesota on Wednesday morning into the early afternoon. The latest Euro and FV3 are hinting at this idea very nicely:
Another weak wave pushes into the Western Dakotas late Wednesday evening and into Thursday morning. This could spawn rain showers especially to the west, but some light snow accumulations are possible in NE ND and especially NW Minnesota:
Patchy areas of dense freezing fog are possible tomorrow throughout Minnesota and Eastern South Dakota:
