12-1-17 INDOT Districts Forecast

Synopsis: Good Friday morning! High pressure is bringing clear skies and cold temperatures this morning with widespread frost.  The forecast is looking great for today right through the weekend with sunny days and comfortable afternoons.  A storm system will impact the state Monday into Tuesday, bringing the return of rain chances Monday followed with gusty showers and storms Monday night as a strong cold front passes.  Very gusty winds will be possible (gusts up to 50 mph) with this front.  Rain exits early Tuesday with temperatures falling into the 40s.  It grows colder mid and late week, as arctic air settles into the Ohio Valley.  Many areas stay below freezing later next week.  Will need to watch for lake-effect snow chances in northern Indiana, but it will depend on how our wind flow sets up (a west wind vs. a northwest wind can make all the difference).  For the rest of the state, there will be the potential to pick up light snow chances late week into next weekend, but specifics cannot be pinned down until we get closer.  Have a great day, and let us know if you have any questions!
