Good evening!  

Current look at the radar show a band of moderate snow developing to the north of the Freeport – Rockford area.  Current thoughts are that the heaviest of the snow can remain to the north and that this will weaken as it pushes south towards your area.

Here is a look at current temperatures (as of 3:15 PM).  Temperates are still above freezing.

Here is a look at temperatures from 5 PM today through midnight.  Temperatures will continue to drop as we progress through the night.  By about 7 PM – 8 PM, we should be at or below the freezing mark.

Here is a look at simulated radar from 5 PM through midnight.  Around the 9 PM- 10 PM to midnight timeframe, this line is expected to approach the Freeport/ Rockford area.  We expect this to weaken as it pushes to the south, with the majority of any accumulating snowfall staying to your north.

Here is a look at snowfall totals out through 8 AM tomorrow morning.  Latest model data has performed rather poorly with the banding to the north of your area, but this band should run out of the best ingredients as it heads your way.  Overall, minimal amounts of snow is expected around 0.1″ – 0.2″ or less.

Here is a look at wind gust from 5 PM through 9 AM tomorrow morning.  Winds look to remain breezy, with gust of 20 – 25 MPH throughout the night.
