11-29-19 Tovar NE Chicago: Latest on remaining precipitation. MG.

Here is a look at the current radar as of 7:35 PM CT.  Snow is continuing to push to the south this evening and looks to largely be coming to end here as this continues to push to the south.  The wave currently on top of the Chicago area looks to be the heaviest of the remaining precip throughout the morning.

Here is a look at current temperatures as of 7:30 PM.  Note that temperatures are generally around the 32 around Waukegan and slightly warmer as we head south with areas around Gary still around 36 F – 37 F

Here is a look at a 6 panel of some simulated radar from 8 PM through 1 AM.  A few lingering, light flurries will be possible after this initial wave passes to the south.  If enough dry air can mix in above, there is potential for some freezing drizzle as well with extremely minimal to no ice accumulation.  Remaining snow looks to be fairly minor with temperatures around the 32 mark will make it very hard to stick to pavement.  Widespread issues are currently not anticipated.  A potential risk to the forecast is IF we can get a lake effect band that can set up across the Chicago metro area.  Latest data does not suggest this will happen and does not seem likely at this time.

Here is a look at simulated radar from 8 PM through 5 PM tomorrow.

Here is a look at temperatures from 8 PM tonight through 5 PM tomorrow.  Temperatures look to slowly drop to around the freezing mark tonight across the Chicago metro area with areas on the outskirts potentially reaching some colder temperatures.  Refreeze will be possible in sheltered areas but due to borderline temps, winds, and light precipitation remaining, no widespread issues are anticipated.
