OH video:

Hoping you all had a blessed Thanksgiving holiday! We had a full on blizzard work across the central Plains to NW IL Sunday into early this morning. Snow showers will continue to depart north of I-70 in IL mid-morning, with still heavy bouts of snow on and off across the northern 1/3rd of IN. Meanwhile, on and off snow showers mixing in across central/southern IN late morning into the afternoon…for most locations we are at or above freezing so no major impacts to the roadways expected while the sun is up. However, with temps dropping down into the teens to 20s overnight, any residual moisture that’s left untreated will refreeze:

Total snowfall guidance over the next 18 hours is below…some heavy, accumulating snow still on the table of 3″+ in NW IL including Chicago, northern IN/southern MI:

A few light snow showers to snow flurries possible along and south of I-70 after sunset tonight into the overnight as strong cold air settles into the Region, squeezing out any additional moisture left in the atmosphere. The focus turns mainly to lake effect snow showers for a long period of time tonight basically through Wednesday across especially NE IN, southern MI into northern OH. Additional refreeze potential is possible tomorrow night into Wednesday morning on surfaces left untreated especially across IN/OH locations:

Weather the second half of week will see gradual warm ups out ahead of our next potent storm system moving through especially on Saturday…right now looking like all rain even some t’storms can’t be ruled out heading into the Big Ten Championship in Indy on Saturday…very soggy day is in the forecast. Here’s your total rainfall guidance over the next 7 days seeing widespread 1-2″+ area wide:
