Good Friday morning everyone! A strong clipper system is pushing southeast this morning with some banded moderate snowfall already developing near Bismarck this morning. Here’s a look at the current radar:
These snow showers will continue to build throughout the day today with a heavier band of snowfall likely located near the area of frontogenesis in in south-central ND and into NE SD. The risk with this storm system is a small shift in track could greatly impact snow totals if you’re on the edge. There will be tight gradient both on the north and south side of this system with areas like Sioux Falls and Minneapolis on the edge of this gradient. High pressure will work in and help clear out skies overnight from north to south with some linger snow showers early tomorrow in SW SD and SE MN. This will allow temperatures in the areas with snow to really drop tonight. Here’s a look at the low temperatures from the WRF-ARW for tonight:
