Good Tuesday evening! Here is our latest thoughts on the snowfall forecast for this evening:
More on the reasoning we are siding with much lower snowfall totals in the Chicago metro area is the surface temperature forecast. While it’s not impossible for snow to overcome a warmer surface I just do not believe it can this go around and the NE wind off the lake adds to that thinking. The question is does this much snow fall from the sky and I think the answer is yes but does it actually accumulate on pavement and I think that answer is no. Confidence is low and it very well could snow more than current thinking but for now our official forecast map stands. -Michael.
