1-9-18 Iowa/Nebraska Forecast: Winter storm on the way Wednesday night & Thursday!

Winter storm watches have been issued for northwest Iowa and east-central Iowa.  Heavy snow accumulations are looking likely here.

Still some uncertainty in how far east the heavy snow band in northwest Iowa will set up.  Overall a widespread 3-6″ in Nebraska, locally more in eastern portions of the state.  Local band of 6″+ possible from Sioux City to Spencer.

After mild conditions most of Wednesday, temperatures fall sharply west to east Wednesday night and Thursday!
