Synopsis: Good Monday morning! Temperatures have held a degree or two warmer in the middle 30s, and this certainly mitigated the icing across the area. That said, some areas especially north are dealing with slick bridges and lesser travelled roads. Most of the precipitation will gradually move out this morning after 7am, but lingering drizzle possible into early afternoon. The next item to discuss will be the potential of freezing fog tonight and Tuesday morning. Warmer air builds in Wednesday/Thursday with lots of drizzly/foggy conditions…and can’t rule out a brief period of freezing drizzle potential north tomorrow night pending surface temperatures. Things get interesting by the end of the week with big changes possible. Potential is there for an Ohio Valley winter storm.
Video:
Conditions will become favorable for fog to develop overnight and Tuesday morning as temperatures fall well below freezing in many areas. Certainly need to monitor.
A warm front will move into the area Tuesday night, bringing foggy and drizzly conditions. Initially, there could be a window of freezing drizzle in northeast portions of the Seymour district Tuesday 8pm-2am Wednesday. Beyond that, no freezing concerns as temperatures will continue to warm. Near 50 in most spots Wednesday!
Temperatures make a run at 60º Thursday with more drizzle/showers possible, then we watch for possible big changes for late week. A cold front looks to move through early Friday with widespread rain chances, then temperatures will fall behind the front Friday/Friday night. A secondary wave of low pressure picking up Gulf moisture will ride northeast into the Ohio Valley Friday night. A winter storm is on the table here, this system will bear very close watching!!
