1-6-18 Illinois Forecast: A wintry mess of weather coming Sunday/Sunday night. Info on timing and impacts here! N.

Video:

Forecast radar from Sunday noon CST to 10am Monday.  The bulk of the moisture will start to work in for areas west of I-55 1-3pm CST, then continuing to build in across the state during the late afternoon and evening.  Expect the bulk of the moisture to move out after 7am Monday.

We target the central/south central portions of the state for the highest icing concerns.  This area (in red) will see freezing rain as the dominant precipitation type.  0.1″ to 0.2″ of ice accumulation is possible here. Areas along I-74 and north see more of a snow/sleet deal and less icing, although minor icing is still possible before switching over to more sleet/snow.
