Synopsis: Good Friday morning! The lake-effect event continues to remain on track. The most prominent snow bands continue to set-up over La Porte and St. Joseph counties, where some areas have already seen 8″ in the past 24 hours. Several inches of additional snowfall can be expected through Saturday morning, once again expect the heaviest amounts over St. Joseph and La Porte counties (updated snow map below). Expect the snow to shift closer to the lake late tonight into Saturday morning as winds decrease, and lake-effect snow will come to an end Saturday afternoon as high pressure builds in overhead. Still watching a system to bring wintry weather to the entire area Sunday afternoon through mid-day Monday. Current thinking is that we will see mostly snow, possibly transitioning to a mix and some freezing rain as the precipitation moves out Monday. 1-3″ of snow appears possible, although fine-tuning will be required through the weekend.
