1-4-20 Wisconsin PM: Latest data on snow potential tomorrow. MG.

WI PM Update:

Simulated radar guidance from 7 AM tomorrow morning through 7 PM tomorrow evening.

Here is a look at temperatures around the same timeframe as the loop above.  Temperatures upon the onset of snow in areas such as Stevens Point to Green Bay will be cold enough (and coming from cooler temperatures from overnight) that snow could initially stick onto pavement.  Temperatures will continue to rise throughout the day behind this snow which will help eat away at any that can stick.

Here is a look at modeled snowfall amounts with this event.  Most of the impacts will be felt from Stevens Point to Green Bay with any snow that can stick to be eaten away by warmer temps.  Breezy conditions will also limit accumulation potential.  Warmer temperatures to the south of Stevens Point should help limit any pavement issues with snow/ drizzle that can fall tomorrow.

Winds will shift out of the northwest into the afternoon with sustained winds around 10 – 15 mph.  Gust of 30 – 35 MPH will be possible.  Here is a look at the wind gust potential Sunday afternoon.

Winds will help dry out any moisture that can be retained on surfaces.  If any moisture can be retained, such as in well sheltered areas, then there will be refreeze potential as temperature look to drop into the 20’s Monday morning.  This is not anticipated to be a widespread issue.  Here is a look at temperatures around 6 AM Monday.
