Video:
Watching a disturbance aloft that will bring a wave of snow showers across mainly western and southern sections of the state tonight. I think a stripe of 0.5″ to locally 1″ is possible from Quincy to Mount Vernon: (Best chance for a local 1″ near Quincy).
Temperatures remain very cold through Saturday. You can see the influence of snow cover vs. bare ground on temperatures across the state! The high reflectivity of snow reflects more of the suns rays which limits surface warming.
Still watching a messy set-up Sunday into Monday, with all forms of precipitation possible. More snow for the north, and more mixing central and south. Two pieces of energy will be passing through, and still pinning down how quickly the two systems phase which will determine the amount of moisture with this wave as it moves through. If you plan on traveling Sunday afternoon/night…please stay tuned to the forecast!
