1-31-18 Northern IN Forecast: Light mix possible into early Thu AM…eyeing lake effect snow to return later Thu into Fri. K.

Synopsis: Good Wednesday morning, it’ll be a gusty and mild day out there! Today we discuss the threat for very light rain showers later this afternoon/evening moving through with a very, very light mix of rain/snow after midnight possible ending before the morning commute Thursday morning. The next threat will be lake effect snow showers gearing back up basically from LaPorte County east; light accumulations are possible as discussed in the video. Beyond this we continue to watch our next wave of wintry weather Saturday night into Sunday, the jury is still out on exact snowfall accumulations but confidence continues to grow on this solution. If you have any questions please let us know, have a blessed day! -Kirk

Need to watch for a very light mix of snow/rain between 12-6amEST Thursday morning…can’t rule out a few slick spots from this but the precipitation should be very light in nature:

Next we are watching for lake effect snow to pick up Thursday afternoon into early Friday afternoon specifically looking from LaPorte Counties east to Steuben…it’s key to note these will be more like pesky lake effect snow showers…can’t rule out near 1-1.5″ closer to the Michigan/Indiana border with light totals further south:
