As we start to push in some warmer temperatures from the west, energy will ride the gradient and lead to light snow chances first in W. ND overnight. Most areas with this wave see less than 1″. Temperatures will moderate as we work into tomorrow with most areas at least getting into the single digits below zero. Some areas in Southern South Dakota could get near 60F this weekend!
Here’s a look at wind gusts over the next 4 days:
A more potent storm system will develop as we work into Sunday. A strong low pressure will cut into the Plains and lead to a band of heavy snowfall with heavy rain on the Southside of the system. Still some differences in the exact track of the system but there is decent agreement that somewhere across the region will see heavy snowfall and strong winds with this system.
