1-24-18 Illinois Forecast: Scattered snow showers this morning…nice weather returns Thursday! N.

Good Wednesday Morning! We’re monitoring some scattered snow showers over parts of southeastern Iowa & northeastern Missouri that will move into the state this morning.  We’re also monitoring some lingering snow showers in the northeast portions of the state.  This area will continue to see scattered bursts of snow showers through early afternoon, so watch for coatings of snow and slick roads.  We should see an end to the precipitation chance this afternoon with some sunshine building in.  Nice and mild weather conditions build in Thursday through most of Friday, then a cold front brings rain showers Friday night and Saturday.  Details in the video.  Have a blessed day, and let us know if you have any questions!

Today’s Video (7 min):

Watching for scattered flurries/drizzle to continue this morning.  This activity should come to an end this afternoon with some sunshine returning.

Watch for scattered light accumulations of snow this morning that could create slick spots on the roadways.

We expect great weather on Thursday as a ridge of high pressure builds in.  Highs in the 40s and 50s.

A front will bring the next threat for rain by late Friday through Saturday, mainly over the central and southern portions of the state.  The rain should clear out Saturday evening, with a mainly dry Sunday.  Temperatures remain above average through the weekend, then a brief shot of colder air builds in by Monday.

Around a half-inch of rain is possible for the southern half of the state, with lower totals across northern portions of the state.

Watch the video for a peek at what next week’s weather may bring!  Have a great day!
