Synopsis: Good Monday morning! Rain showers continue to work east into the Districts this morning, at times moderate showers and a few rumbles of thunder will be possible. We see things transitioning to a mix to snow showers early Tuesday morning by ~rush-hour, however, it’s key to note 2 things: the pavement temps will be very warm as this snow falls and temps will be lingering at or slightly below freezing when this falls so most if not all of the snow that falls will melt directly on contact. High pressure conditions settle in later Wednesday into Thursday with some sunshine and warmth returning, with our next shot of rain coming Friday into Saturday as our next system works east. If you have any questions please let us know, have a blessed week ahead! -Kirk
Today’s video:
Simulated Radar as the rain showers work east along the cold front today into tonight…times of moderate showers with a few rumbles of thunder possible:
Simulated Radar as we transition things to snow showers ~rush-hour Tuesday AM into the afternoon…it’s important to note that pavement temps will be well above freezing as this snow falls and temps at the surface will be at freezing as well…so right now we aren’t expect any issues on pavement, however some light accumulations on grassy areas and elevated surfaces:
Total rainfall over the next 60 hours…base of 0.25-0.50″ expected with locally 0.75-1″ possible in heavier bursts of showers:
Snowfall guidance…the area we noted in red indicates where some heavier bursts of snow look to work in as we go throughout Tuesday, but again, we think most if not all of this suggested snowfall accumulation gets eaten up by warm pavement temps and near-freezing surface temps:
