1-22-18 Nebraska Forecast: Blizzard Conditions Through Tonight…Clearing Weather Later in the Week. D.

Good Monday Morning!

We’re continuing to monitor the blizzard conditions across eastern parts of Nebraska that will continue through tonight. With winds gusting up to 40 and even 50 in some places, visibility will be near-zero and travel will be nearly impossible. Clearer weather will follow the rest of the week following this system with temps increasing as the week progresses. Blizzard warning is in effect for most parts of eastern Nebraska until 7 pm tonight with some far eastern parts under a blizzard warning until late tonight/early Tuesday morning:

Simulated radar until 1 am CT Tuesday. Heavy snow will continue throughout the day and into the evening. Decreasing in intensity as the evening progresses, with lingering snow showers possible into Tuesday morning.

Latest guidance for additional snowfall today through Tuesday (as of 6am CT).  Heaviest snow looking to fall across the northeastern sector of the state. Seeing upwards of 15 inches in areas from this event:

Winds are going to only make this storm worse as they gust up to 40 even 50 mph throughout the day today. Expect white-out conditions to continue and travel to be near impossible with wind gusts this high:
