Total observed snow accumulations throughout the weekend…we discuss in the videos today where the forecast did well and where the initial warmer air allowed some areas to bust with a lower than forecast amount. However, the blizzard-like conditions Saturday night were very real for many of us across the Region as winds topped over 40mph+ for hours:

Concerns grow for flooding issues in parts of the area Tuesday night into Wednesday as the grounds are very saturated, and with a new snow melt and additional heavy rain over that, that is concerning. Especially for locations south of I-70. Check out the forecast radar from Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning:
We do anticipate possible light snow showers and accumulations as the cold air behind this low pressure system turns the precipitation back to snow Wednesday after into Thursday west to east as discussed in the video:
Our next best shot at more widespread light accumulating snow comes late Friday night for NW locations into Saturday for most of us as a “clipper” works its way into the Region:
Total precipitation guidance over the next 7 days is below…again, the concern for flooding issues is definitely elevated given how cold we are this morning and the stout snowpack we laid down this weekend…any time you go from very cold to very warm in a short timespan with snow on the ground in the middle of winter is a red flag for flooding as the excess water cannot soak into the ground at all and runs off:
