1-20-20 Ankeny Schools: Scattered light snow showers/flurries today. Keeping an eye on snow chances Wednesday. B.

Today’s Video:

Simulated radar from 6AM to 2PM today:

Accumulated snowfall throughout the day today. We would watch for the Des Moines area to have the risk of some light flurries/scattered snow showers and the risk for a coating of snow in spots as well.

As temperatures drop below zero again tomorrow morning, freezing fog could develop especially across Central and Eastern Iowa including the Des Moines area. This fog may not lift completely until 9-10AM.

A wave of snow likely develops as we work into Wednesday morning. Accumulations do look likely from this as of now but temperatures will become marginal later in the day on Wednesday and into Thursday. This looks to be a long duration event with chances lingering into late Friday. Adjustments on this are to be expected as we work further into the week given the slow moving nature of the storm system.

**Potential** snowfall through Wednesday evening:
