Happy New Year!! The brutal cold is the story once again. Wind chill alerts until noon today for wind chills from 15 to 35 below zero.
An upper-level disturbance will move across the state late tonight into Wednesday, bringing the threat for some scattered snow showers. Not a lot in terms of accumulation, a general coating of snow possible mainly central and north.
After a slight temperature moderation Wednesday, very cold air continues to reload over the area Thursday-Saturday as a major storm rides up the east coast:
The next real weather maker to track looks to move in Sunday into Monday. This could bring a real mess of mixed precipitation types as much warmer air rides over our cold ground. Precip types/placement/amounts are in question right now, so be sure to check back over the coming days as we gradually get a better handle.
