1-18-18 Central Plains Regional Forecast: Warming trend ahead….watching a late weekend winter storm. N.

Good Thursday morning!  After a brutal start to the week, we will change things in a big way for late week.  Expecting a nice warming trend over the next few days ahead of a storm system set to impact the region from Saturday night through Monday.  This will bring accumulating snow for parts of the region, and just rain for others.  All the details in today’s video and the post below.

Great weather expected today and Friday with decent sunshine and continued warmer temperatures.  Check out the forecast temperatures over the next couple of days:

A few sprinkles are possible by late Saturday, then the majority of the moisture builds in on Sunday, continuing through Monday.

Not much has changed regarding the placement of where we think the majority of the snow sets up:

Looking beyond this, we see a quieter period for the middle of next week with seasonably cold air, then a good signal for another storm by the end of next week.  Far too early to know the track of this one, but moderate to high confidence of a storm system during this time.
