9-11-18 Northern Plains: Tracking storm risks the next two days. B.

Today’s Video:

Good Tuesday morning everyone! Showers and storms in far NE ND/NW Minnesota are weakening and exiting the area. A quieter few hours before activity will begin to pick back up this afternoon and into the evening. An isolated strong/severe storm or two cannot be ruled out with isolated large hail the main threat. Here is the simulated radar into midnight tonight:

With a building low-level jet and a surging warm front, showers will develop along the front overnight tonight and into tomorrow. This will not be a washout nor will everyone see rain, but scattered activity is likely into tomorrow evening slowly pushing north throughout the day:

Here’s a look at rainfall through 7PM CDT tomorrow:

We could see additional development tomorrow night with another strong storm risk with isolated gusty winds and large hail the main threat.

The stationary boundary between the warm eastern US and cool west will linger in the area into the weekend and lead to multiple additional rounds of storms especially in North Dakota and Northern Minnesota. Rounds on Friday and Saturday could certainly come with some heavy rainfall:
