8-29-19 Northern Plains: Pleasant Thursday – A few showers in South Dakota Friday….brief warm-up into Labor Day. N.

Today’s video:

Observed rainfall over the last 24 hours was only very light to the north and northeast as anticipated…basically completely dry for all of us:

No change in our thoughts on the forecast for today…widespread dry weather and beautiful weather area-wide with just some breezy conditions out of the northwest. Our next round of some light rain showers is anticipated to work in on a scattered fashion across western SD Friday morning, push east throughout the day especially across the southern half of the state. We anticipate southern MN to see impacts late Friday night southwest exiting east of Rochester by mid-afternoon Saturday. Key here is “light and scattered”…many of stay very dry Friday through Saturday still as well ahead:

Before moving forward, we did want to mention some low temps are likely to dip into the lower 40s to upper 30s in some spots across the eastern Dakotas to Minnesota and northern Wisconsin into Friday AM…especially low-lying areas that have been dry recently:

Sunday overall anticipated to repeat this dry period widespread…but do think some scattered rainfall across the region will be increasingly likely as we push into Labor Day Monday…timing is discussed in the video above and coverage as well:

Total rainfall guidance through next Tuesday is below…generally where it rains we see a range of 0.1-0.5″ region-wide:
