With a southeast surface wind and moisture streaming from the Gulf of Mexico we could see pop up storms this afternoon diminishing into the evening hours. This potential is on the table for the middle of this week as well – perhaps even more isolated as upper-level high pressure suppresses upward motion:
A ridge of high pressure over the southeast US will lend to drier conditions overall the next 7 days.
Heat indices are going to be a problem as we progress throughout the week with dew points in the 70s and temperatures into upper 80s and low 90s. Heat indices will be nearing 95F by Friday:
