4-5-19 Ohio Forecast: Tracking light rains this morning…showers and storms likely Sunday into Monday + warming temps. I.

Ohio Video:

Simulated radar through 2pm EDT Monday: Rains in the southern and eastern portions of the state will continue to work eastward this morning, generally lifting out early afternoon with a few remaining sprinkles or spotty showers after that time. Saturday is looking to be a nice weather day (besides areas of dense fog in the morning) with temperatures warming into the upper 60s to lower 70s! Definitely make sure to make plans for your Saturday! Our attention at this point in time turns towards a system developing across the Central Plains that enters the southwestern portions of the state mainly mid-morning Sunday with scattered showers and storms becoming more likely into the afternoon hours. There will be some marginal instability and veering winds developing out ahead of this wave, so a couple of these storms, particularly in the far southwestern corner of the state, can become strong with localized damaging winds and spotty hail the main threats. Highs Sunday are looking to warm to near 70ºF. Showers and a few storms will be widely scattered heading into Sunday night, then the better focus can shift more heavily towards the southern portions of the state Monday and residing there before exiting into Tuesday.

Areas of dense fog will be able to develop heading into late overnight and Saturday morning, particularly the eastern half of OH, given lingering low-level saturation. However, any fog that manages to develop Saturday morning will erode as the morning progresses with a mix of sun and clouds for the day.

Total rainfall through Monday night reveals a general 0.25-0.5″ for the northern half of the state with amounts increasing dramatically as you head south towards the Ohio River. Locations south of I-70 are looking to receive 0.5-1.5″, though the higher end of this range is most likely near the Ohio River. Locally higher amounts will be possible. Please note that the model is taking into account a slight amount of rainfall shown below that fell overnight.
