4-5-19 Indiana Forecast: Patchy mist lifts this morning…warmer air with showers/storms Sunday into Monday. I.

Indiana Video:

Simulated radar through 2pm EDT Monday: Patchy mist and drizzle will linger until mid-morning before dissipating, leading to partial clearing in skies afterwards. Given some lingering low-level moisture a few spotty showers will be possible into the afternoon, however. Saturday is looking to be a nice weather day (besides patchy fog in the morning) with temperatures warming into the upper 60s to lower 70s! Definitely make sure to make plans for your Saturday! Our attention at this point in time turns towards a system developing across the Central Plains that enters the southwestern portions of the state around 5am EDT Sunday with scattered showers and storms for our Sunday. There will be some marginal instability and veering winds developing out ahead of this wave, so a few of these storms, particularly in the southern half of the state, can become strong with localized damaging winds and hail the main threats. Highs Sunday are looking to warm to near 70ºF. Showers and a few storms will be widely scattered heading into Sunday night, then the better focus shifts towards the southern portions of the state late Sunday night into our Monday, lifting east as Monday progresses.

Patchy areas of fog will be able to develop heading into late overnight and Saturday morning given lingering low-level saturation. However, any fog that manages to develop Saturday morning will erode as the morning progresses with a mix of sun and clouds for the day.

Total rainfall through Monday night reveals a general 0.25-0.5″ for the northern half of the state with amounts increasing dramatically as you head south towards the Ohio River. Locations south of I-70 are looking to receive 0.5-1.5″, though the higher end of this range is most likely near the Ohio River. Locally higher amounts will be possible. Please note that the model is taking into account a slight amount of rainfall shown below that fell overnight.
