4-1-19 Round Rock Forecast: Patchy shower/storm chances through Friday before rains substantially increase into the weekend. I.

Good morning everyone! Here’s the latest forecast video for the upcoming week:

Updated 7-day forecast is below:

A few light showers will be possible this morning as an upper-level trough swings through the area, but generally speaking dry air is eating away at most of this and don’t expect any problems there. Our next chance for isolated storms comes late Wednesday into Thursday morning, but still only a 20-30% chance of observing this threat. A more substantial risk for heavier rains and storms will come late Friday night but especially into the day Saturday as a storm system develops out of Northern Mexico and kicks into the area. Some of these storms will have the potential to be heavy so definitely be weary for our Saturday. This risk will linger into Sunday, though will be more east at this point in time.

Total precipitation over the next 7 days reveals heavier totals than what we observed over the previous week with a likely 1.5-2.5″ for the Round Rock area. The bulk of this rainfall will come late Friday night through Sunday morning as previously stated. We did want to point out that the ECMWF (not shown below) is substantially lower on rainfall amounts during this timeframe, but is more of an outlier at this time and we favor heavier rainfall solutions.
