3-27-19 ND/SD Update: Spring-like temperatures today. Accumulating snow possible Thursday/Friday. B.

Today’s Video:

Dense Fog Advisories remain in effect this morning but the fog should lift as we work into mid-day:

Overall, much of the day today will be fairly quiet, but as we work into the late evening hours, a cold front will begin to progress to the south. This will spawn scattered snow showers north of the front overnight especially in NE ND. An area of rain/snow mix transitioning to snow will also develop overnight and dump light snow accumulations along the border of ND/SD.

This first wave will weaken into mid-day tomorrow and then the main area of snow develops overnight tomorrow and into Friday. The heaviest snow likely falls in SW SD with higher elevation areas having the risk of seeing higher totals. Generally, current data supports a band of 2-5″ in SW SD.
