3-25-19 Cincinnati Reds Forecast: Dry conditions through mid-week…discussing unsettled pattern late work week into the weekend. I.

Good Monday evening! Here’s a 7-day forecast for the first stretch of home games of the season! Wishing you guys a great season ahead!

All rain activity at this point in time has lifted to the east and will be replaced with some very late day sunshine as the sun sets. In fact, expect nice weather conditions Tuesday through Wednesday as high pressure works across the region, suppressing any precipitation risks. It will be on the cooler side, especially during the mornings when temperatures drop towards the mid-20s, but warm nicely into the upper 40s Tuesday and upper 50s Wednesday. However, more inclement weather is on the horizon as we continue to pump in warmer temperatures and moisture. Spotty showers will be likely from late morning Thursday through the remainder of the daylight hours for the Cincinnati Metro. We believe these will have minimal impacts to the home opener, but watch for slightly breezy conditions with gusts up to 25mph. Simulated radar from 8am EDT Thursday to 2am EDT Friday:

Late Thursday night into Friday morning an additional round of more widespread showers and perhaps a couple storms will progress across the area, then becoming more scattered in nature as the morning progresses with a few spotty showers remaining a threat into the afternoon and most of the overnight. The heavier rains and better coverage will be north of Cincinnati up to this point. However, once again, breezy conditions will remain (gusts to 25mph). The cold front and associated showers and storms will be approaching from the west during the morning hours Saturday with more widespread shower and storm activity present across the region into the afternoon but especially the evening. Saturday’s 2:10pm EDT first pitch will likely be impacted by these showers and storms and is the most at-risk day of this forecast. Also, winds will be gusting up to 35mph during this time. The cold front will lift eastward overnight and gradually pull the bulk of the precipitation east during this time. Heading into Sunday, a few snow showers will be possible along the back-edge of this wave with current projections keeping Sunday’s game risk at a minimum. More calm conditions are anticipated into early next week.

Total precipitation through next Tuesday reveals amounts generally ranging between 0.7-1.4″ for the area. While rains are anticipated as early as Thursday and increasing into Friday and especially Saturday, most of what is shown below occurs during that timeframe, specifically Saturday. Given the range of distance this storm still remains in, these numbers could fluctuate up and down pending the evolution of the rainfall coverage, but this is a good base to work off at this distance.

If you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out! Have a great evening!
