3-15-19 Update: Quieter weather with a few light snow chances throughout the weekend. B.

Today’s Video:

Good Friday morning everyone. Overall, a much quieter radar this morning with a few scattered snow showers and flurries mainly across Minnesota working through the area. Some of these could produce a light coating of snow but won’t have a big impact.

As we discussed yesterday, there will be a wave of energy spawn a swath of snow showers as we work into tonight and tomorrow. This will likely be a narrow band of snow, but some areas could get up to an 1″-1.5″ of snow, though most see little to no accumulation. Snow likely develops in NW ND late this evening and overnight and continues through the Dakotas into tomorrow morning before exiting SE Minnesota tomorrow evening. Here’s a look at the simulated radar and snowfall aided from the NBM:

There will be additional waves of energy to work through Saturday and Sunday, but we generally expect these to produce snow showers focused in Northern Minnesota with accumulations of an inch or less:

Beyond this, the pattern is very quiet with only a few weak disturbances to track. Here’s a look at 7 day total precipitation:
