2-5-20 Urgent nowcast update. -Michael.

As I finish this post up we just got a call from Kokomo/Tipton area with a report that roads are already icing up and have become very slick. If you have any ground reports we would appreciate it.

The area in yellow is where I have some concerns. So far rainfall is ranging from 0.10-0.20″. Please see nowcast image for the latest. Its important to note latest model guidance has ~0.10″ to 0.15″ ice in the forecast inside this yellow area tonight. Shown is temps by 6am Thursday. Again to reiterate if the rain has washed your chemical off early in the storm we strongly advise applying more chemical tonight before the Thursday morning commute. We are around for questions. These situations are very touch and go and 1 degree differences in the forecast can make major differences. Overall if you’re ahead of the storm you should be ok. It is worth noting also the heaviest precip looks to be moving through the area faster than modeled which can mean steady precip would exit quicker.  -Michael.
