Favorable conditions are present for a heavy band of snow in Southern South Dakota and Minnesota today. Several inches of snow are possible.
Another piece of energy will dive into North Dakota and Northern Minnesota tomorrow morning bringing additional light snowfall accumulation.
A solid snowpack will allow temperatures to drop below zero for much of North Dakota and Minnesota as the next blast of cold air dives south on Christmas.
