11-22-19 Illinois: Minor wintry mix for a few Saturday AM…discussing a potent system arriving Tuesday. N.

Illinois Video:

Here is the estimated rain over the past 48 hours:

A weak system may bring a few areas of light rain & snow Saturday morning, but in general looking like a non-event.  There may be a brief pocket of snow showers around Quincy to Pittsfield that could put a dusting in a couple spots on the grass between 4-8am, and perhaps an isolated slick bridge/overpass there.  Other-wise, looking like Springfield and Peoria areas are essentially spared with almost no precipitation, and right now we don’t see a concern here.

Our next system arrives Tuesday…with overnight data coming into better agreement on a “warmer” track, NW Illinois will be close to the wintry side of this system, but in general we favor a rain event for the state.  We are just starting to see data come into agreement on this solution, so be sure to check back for any changes in the track!  A swath of accumulating snow sets up not far from here across Iowa & Wisconsin.
