Hailing from the small town of Sheridan, IN, Matt Griffin has always dreamed of becoming a meteorologist. Matt’s fascination with weather started as a young child as he and his father would sit on the front porch to watch summertime storms roll through central Indiana. The 1996 release of the movie “Twister” solidified his love of weather and inspired him to become a meteorologist. Matt received his bachelors of science in Geography, with an emphasis in Professional Meteorology and Climatology, from Ball State University and also minored in GIScience. He then traveled to Grand Forks, North Dakota, where he obtained his Master’s degree in Atmospheric Science from the University of North Dakota. Matt currently resides in Westfield, IN, with his wife, Diana, and dog, Arty. Aside from the weather, Matt is a passionate sports fan of the Indianapolis Colts, Notre Dame Football, and the Indiana Pacers, a self-proclaimed connoisseur of spicy foods and craft beers, and lover of metal music.
