FORECAST VIDEO We started the morning out with clouds and some fog across the forecast area. However, sunshine is starting to get through and erode away the fog. As sunshine gets through some instability will develop and some isolated to scattered rain/storms will develop. While these storms will not be severe, a few could produce gusty winds, lightning, and heavy downpours Overnight any remaining storms will fade out across the forecast area. FORECAST VIDEO The tropical disturbance is getting its act together today south of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. This storm is not yet a tropical storm, but it does look like the storm will be a named Tropical Storm this afternoon. The latest forecast model spread is in pretty good agreement that this system makes landfall in the Yucatan Peninsula. Back on land we can see there is a slight risk of severe weather is in place across the northern Plains today. Main risks will be damaging winds and hail. However, a couple spin-ups can't be ruled out.
