While there is some rain across southern Illinois, it is quickly fading as it moves closer to southwestern Indiana. FORECAST VIDEO The disturbance in the tropics remains unnamed as of 10:50 am EDT this Tuesday. However, the hurricane hunters are currently surveying the storm so more data will be available after bit. FORECAST VIDEO The tropical disturbance is getting its act together today south of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. This storm is not yet a tropical storm, but it does look like the storm will be a named Tropical Storm this afternoon. The latest forecast model spread is in pretty good agreement that this system makes landfall in the Yucatan Peninsula. Back on land we can see there is a slight risk of severe weather is in place across the northern Plains today. Main risks will be damaging winds and hail. However, a couple spin-ups can't be ruled out.
