#ILwx #INw #OHwx Mon All Zones – Wet/windy today, strong storms? MUCH cooler remainder of the week…rain/snow mix Wed-Thurs? K.
Synopsis: The moderate to heavy rain axis continues to move through all of our Zones into tonight. I think there’s a small potential for a strong storm tonight into the overnight across portions of IN/western OH as we have a strong low-level jet move through. Otherwise, a few spotty showers possible Tuesday across the Zones…our focus turning to Wed night into Thurs morning with a mix of rain/snow possible across our northern Zone locations…specific details in the video!
Showers continue tonight as our system slowly moves northeast…another 1-2″ now out of the question with wind gusts topping 30mph possible.
Here’s an animated look at simulated radar as our showers move east tonight…I time these out in the video.
A strong storm is not out of the question across central/southern IN and western OH tonight as winds aloft near 5,000ft are over 60kts…if a storm can bring these down to the surface you have the potential for a severe wind gust…not looking for a widespread event, but I did want to reiterate that there is some potential there.
Rainfall totals over the next 24 hours…an additional 1-2″+ not out of the question across southern IL, central/southern IN and western OH as there is still plenty of rainfall left in this system.
We cool off as this system moves to the east the remainder of the week and we shift our focus to our northern Zone locations Wednesday evening into early Thursday morning as temperatures flirt near-freezing for a rain/snow mix…we need to do some fine-tuning on these specifics as we get closer…just keep it on your radar as we move forward with the forecast.
Confidence and Risk:
- High confidence today remains wet and windy across the Zones as we head into tomorrow
- Above average to high confidence we cool off significantly this week as this system pushes east tomorrow
- Average confidence in a rain/snow mix Wed night/Thurs morning for our northern Zone locations…details need more fine-tuning
