#INWX #OHWX Zone 1/2 Weekend rain&storms. Heat next week. Big cold front looms. M.
Good morning folks and happy Thursday. We are watching this area today for the potential of scattered rain and storms to persist through early afternoon. Models are not handling the setup well so keep an eye out today and check out the video for details.
We are watching for a cold front to come east through the Ohio valley this weekend. As it does so rain and storms are forecasted to develop as early as Friday evening across Indiana. Friday night football could turn wet with storms in the area. Locally after all said and done we can expect and average of 0.50″-1.5″ of rain to fall across the zones with locally heavier amounts possible. Here is a 96hr model blend rainfall forecast.
Next week we need to watch for 2-4 days of heat perhaps upper 80s ESP across the southern and eastern portions of the Ohio Valley. European wants to suggest lower 90s but I’m not in that camp just yet. Following this heat will be what looks like the biggest cold front we have had here in months. This *could* be a pattern changer overall so will need to watch this moving forward.
Heat first as shown above followed by a potential big cold front ~26th of Sept shown below:
