A few showers are moving across zone 2 this morning under mostly cloudy skies. These showers are out ahead of a cold front that is working through the forecast area. As we progress through the afternoon today, showers and storms will redevelop. The best time for redevelopment will be after 12-1 PM.
Showers and storms will continue off to the east this evening bringing gusty winds and periods of heavy rain with them. While a couple severe weather warnings are not totally out of the question (especially across eastern zone 2), I am not expecting any organized severe weather.
Isolated to widely scattered storm chances will become possible once again Wednesday afternoon. However, better chances look to occur across southern Michigan after 7-8 PM Wednesday evening. This will be thanks to a shortwave trough moving through the forecast area. It’s not out of the question a couple of those storms could be on the gusty to the strong side.
TUE 11 PM EDT
The next best chance of rain will move in Saturday and Sunday as the cold front swings through. There is a chance some of these storms could be strong, but that’s a forecast we will have to fine-tune as we get closer to the forecast period.
