A slight risk of severe weather is in place across the northeast today. Main threat will be damaging winds, but a couple of tornadoes can’t be ruled out.
Another slight risk is in place for Tuesday across northern Nebraska and southern South Dakota. Damaging winds, hail, and perhaps a few tornadoes will be possible with those storms.
The big story is the cold front that continues south/southeast today. This is knocking down temperatures and humidity across northern portions of the U.S. that experienced 100°+ heat indexes this past weekend. By tomorrow afternoon many places across the Midwest/Great Lakes/Ohio Valley will be feeling the relief from the extreme heat!
