Several days of severe weather will be possible over the northern portions of the United States. While the threat today-Friday look to be more damaging winds, Saturday’s severe weather potential does look more favorable for supercells across Minnesota/Wisconsin as a negative tilted 500 mb trough moves through. Risks on Saturday could include damaging winds, hail, and some tornadoes.
Across the central United States very hot, humid conditions will be in place through the weekend. Heat indexes of 100-115° will be possible as far north as the Dakotas. For this reason, Excessive Heat Warnings & Watches have been issued across many areas of the Great Plains/Midwest.
