Northern zones forecast update. Frz drizzle/snow chances. Video talks largely about tonight and Thursday morning snow potential.
Rain arrives tonight ~7pm. It may mix in northern zones 3 and 4 with ice and sleet as the colder air is in place up there longer.
With low level moisture holding on tomorrow and temps that hover around 32 its not a major concern but I do have some concerns that there could be some freezing mist/drizzle that hangs around Tuesday. The issue is this is very hard to pin down and forecast..I do have the GFS/NAM/WRF models telling me this will happen so I cannot ignore it. Another thing the computers are hinting at is lake effect snow showers Tues night into Wed from the strong NW breeze. Some accumulation likely in western MI.
Temps Tuesday 10am:
Lake effect snow accumulation next 72hrs:
Wednesday night into Thursday also stands out to me esp from I70 north for the potential at some accumulating snow. Details on that and potential accumulation are in the video forecast. Here is an idea from the latest NAM on snow location Thursday morning. It would not shock me if it tries to come south a few clicks next few days. I will have another update sent out today covering the latest on the short and long range forecasts so be sure to check your emails again this afternoon. M.
