Good morning, Another quick update on the current misting and icing situation this morning. Latest information is suggesting this should shut off around 11am/12pm. Again I do not look for any sunshine today and temps from I70 north will not get above freezing most likely so I would continue to get some salt down. Thick low level cloud deck wins out today.
As we look ahead to Sunday morning a weak clipper system will move through the area. Right now timing looks to be from 7am NW to 2pm east. Arctic air and gusty winds will also rush in with the snow Sunday. Its possible we are looking at some good bursts of snow along with some snow squalls. Winds will gust out of the NW at times to 20MPH. Temps will start in the low 20s Sunday morning and fall into the single digits by Sunday ~8/9pm. Right now thinking is snow ratios will be around 15/20:1 so there is no doubt its a light fluffy snow.

If you are inside the blue lines right now the forecast is for you to see anywhere from 0.25″ of snow to 1″ of snow in spots. You can see where the data puts the “heavier” snows. This will ultimately come down to a now cast situation where we start fine tuning late tonight.
