Good morning! Waking up to some nice 2-4″ snowfall totals across the area. First and foremost if you need certified snow totals please be sure to email me with the request and the cities you need them for I can have them to you by Monday morning. Looking ahead to Monday evening forecast another threat of accumulating snow is coming. Right now we have an are of low pressure that will track over the great lakes from west to east. As it does so it will bring a reinforcing shot of bitter cold air with it and the threat of snow overnight Monday and into early Tuesday morning. Right now we bracket the hours of 7pm Mon-10am Tues for another area wide 1 to as much as 4″ of very fine powdery snow. By Tuesday morning very cold air works in along with winds out of the WNW at 10-30MPH with gusts to 40MPH, this will lead to blowing and drifting snow during the day Tuesday across the region. I would look for another Winter weather advisory to be issued tomorrow. During the day Tuesday right now it looks like we remain rather cloudy with lingering snow showers so I don’t see much help with melting Tuesday afternoon.

With the above mentioned in mind this system has overachiever written all over it. While I went 1-4″ of snow I wouldn’t be shocked if I have to up these tomorrow evening. This issue with these systems is in the video forecast. Also keep in mind sharp cold air advection and very gusty winds temps will be in the teens Tuesday and falling into the single digits Tuesday night..perhaps even below 0 with fresh snow pack. Wind chill values will be very close to advisory criteria actually.
Official snowfall forecast. I will need to fine tune this tomorrow after new data comes in.
